You can help have a relaxing and positive birth by

• eating healthily
• take time to relax and prepare yourself
• avoiding sources of stress and anxiety
• gentle and sensible exercise, e.g. walking etc
• being kind to yourself
• helping your partner understand how they can help you (there is a section in the Effective birth preparation book on this).
